THE SUBSTRATE
This piece is drawn on a drawing I made when I was 7 years old in 1984.
If you look closely, you can see two fire-breathing monsters locked in battle underneath the portrait.
That kid was obsessed with barbarians, dragons, and epic showdowns.
40 years later, I'm drawing the ultimate barbarian on top of his imagination.
This is the third piece in my "Childhood Collaboration Series."
(Ultimate Warrior and Sean Connery came before. More warrior-spirit subjects coming.)

Arnold wasn't just Conan. He WAS Conan.
The ultimate barbarian. Raw power. Primal intensity. Unstoppable force.

This portrait captures that: savage focus, controlled violence, warrior's determination.
The crosshatch technique creates dimension and shadow—thousands of lines building the planes of his face.
